I took care of a mom who just had her second baby today who didn't bf her
first one (no 4 yrs) because he had been under alot of stress during her
labor and ended up being a C/S babe. Doctor felt his risk for hyperbili
was too high and that nursing would make it much worse, so told her not
to bf.
GOOD GRIEF! She is nursing her new daughter beautifully and would
probably tell anyone who told her not to to stuff it. Isn't it
great what a difference 4 years makes.
The other mom and baby I took care of (bottle baby, Mom concerned about
her looks) (nothing more beautiful that a nursing mom and babe) baby
was as yellow as a carrot and only 24 hrs old. No blood incompatabilities,
but even so sleepy baby, yellow, ped said "she's a bottle baby so
we don't need to worry about her". Hope he changes his mind tomorrow.
