Stephanie,
Are the stools "credit card sized" and what is the actual weight gain? Is the baby preterm or late preterm. Compression while feeding sounds like a good idea. Mom can use her phone to record what the baby sounds like when he sleeps to show the doctor. Does the baby have "awake alert" times? It may be that this baby has a different pattern of nursing than her others did. Three children to take care of is more time consuming than two...

He nurses, then naps, then nurses again about 20 minutes later. She is not able to rouse him after he falls asleep. She has attempted doing massage and compression while nursing. Baby is having a bunch of normal stools every day (at least 3) and is gaining appropriately. She does state that he seems to have periods of strong apnea at night and that he is a noisy sleeper. Doctor is not concerned about this. Mom is exhausted and frustrated. Is there something that I'm missing here? Nothing is jumping out at me.
