Well said. And it's not just about bees, either. All this talk of bees vanishing and people starving is not only self-serving, but misses the point entirely. Honey bees will be maintained because they serve an important purpose. But wild bee populations, quality habitat, the environment in general -- these are worth protecting and defending for their own sake. 

What kind of world will we have if everything is for us, about us? What sort of place would it be if all plants were crops and all animals were livestock? Thoreau famously said "In Wildness is the preservation of the world." He famously did not say let's domesticate everything, turn the world into a giant greenhouse, and crank up the thermostat.
