Kathy, you state that the baby had one, and ***one*** only, diaper with just
two streaks of blook in it - and no recurrence. If it is a one-off, it would
be sensible to discuss a "wait-and-see" approch with the mother. She could
remind her doctor that that it is a one-off with no recurrence, or seek a
second opinion.
I have sometimes had dyads referred to me by concerned GPs after the mother
has been put on a strict exclusion diet for alleged "allergy" by someone
else, with the her range of foods very limited. Sometimes there has been no
credible evidence of allergy. Exclusion diets, especially long-term ones,
are not something to be undertaken lightly and if there seems to be a need,
a second opinion and involvement of a nutritions/dietitian is warranted.
Your client seems very motivated.

[Kathy] was NOT concerned about the number of stools, consistency, color,
etc.
