Excellent responses so far, from some of our best experts. I can picture a
mom carrying a 7.5 month old on her hip with her posture warped. If there
was any nerve impingement already, this would exacerbate it. I think it
worth pursuing the Mammary Constriction Syndrome, as the stretches and
exercises would not hurt, I wouldn't think. Maybe even some chiropractic
adjustments?
I don't think it's Raynaud's because I would expect that to be bilateral.
The subclinical mastitis or bacterial lactiferous duct infection makes
sense. Mother has had mastitis x2 before, and had an inverted nipple. It
seems baby nurses more there but pops on/off so maybe more of a supply
there but less adequate drainage? All factors for mastitis. If mother does
take antibiotics, I would also recommend probiotics to help balance,
restore flora. I am sure Dr. Eglash would let you share her post with mom's
primary provider. Remember do a culture first.
