Here's their conclusion: "No statistically significant differences in
length of stay or cost of care were found between infants
fed at least 50% breast milk and those who were exclusively formula fed.
~~~ So it's nice to know they set the bar so low... they could be saying,
without admitting it, that when VLBW babies have even slightly more than
50% of their needs met with human milk there IS a statistically different
result in length or stay and/or cost of care... but maybe that isn't
negative enough for WBW news? Why wouldn't it be good news that significantly
less that exclusive breastfeeding/breastmilk feeding could still make a
significant difference in the lives of these babies, their families, hospitals
and society?
