Hi Laura. I am confused. What does sulfa have to do with solving
engorgement issues? I use cold compresses in between, brief warmth right
before nursing or pumping, and if it's bad, a cup or two of mint tea a day,
or some doctors advise patients ( I don't ) to take one sudafed, to reduce
swelling. Mint tea works well for my patients but sparingly as you can go
so far the other way so quickly. Reverse Pressure Softening is a great
technique.  Getting the tongue tie fixed would help.  I have not seen a mom
with ankle swelling due to breast engorgement. I might have this mom see
her physician, as there might be other issues present.

I often use clean disposable diapers with water. 2 in the freezer, for cold
packs, and 2 that can be microwaved briefly for warm packs. Cold cabbage
leaves?

Did this mother have a ton of IV fluids during birth?
