I love all of these alternatives!!! Has anyone read the book Parenting, Inc.? Great book about the commercialization of parenting. The Dreaded Bags are in there. So are LCs, but not as equivalent to The Bags.
Regarding letting down for the pump, it can sometimes help for the mom to breastfeed on one breast while pumping on the other, then switching sides for both. When she lets down for Baby, she'll let down for the pump, thus training her body to let down for the pump by itself. Also, massaging and jiggling before and duringpumping (setting down the flange while jiggling) can help.

>> PS. I think we need to change the terms "Ban the Bag". This has given civil libertarians a rallying cry. We actually are increasing choice by removing a monopoly.
