I do not speak for the Leader Accreditation Department of LLL, but it is my
understanding that one would be very strongly discouraged from pursuing
accreditation as a La Leche League Leader as a stepping stone to IBCLC
certification. Asking the volunteer moms who are Leaders to invest a
really significant amount of time, without compensation, to help a person
get her clinical hours is not terribly fair. That said, if you are looking
to be a LLLL and to invest lots of time and energy in LLL as an end in
itself, great! I personally wear both hats and love it.
