Is the mother on any CNS medication? For example Pain medication? Even some
blood pressure meds and perhaps other meds can affect baby with
hypotension. Is baby overly swaddled or warm.?
I would try kangaroo care, wearing the baby, and perhaps smaller feeds
(more frequent) to see if baby would wake up. It is good she is gaining
weight and has good color and muscle tone, still I would be worried if my
baby rarely woke up on her own, and I would want another opinion.
And this is far fetched - but could there be very small amounts of, say,
carbon monoxide, that is affecting baby but not adults, or giving some
small s/s in adults like headache? I hope not.
