Keep in mind, though, that green stools can suggest a number of different
causes ( can think of three or four), and in some babies are normal for
them. The most important thing is to observe green stools in relation to
the baby's overall health and progress. If the individual baby is doing
nicely, is healthy and active and is gaining, the old saying "if it ain't
broke, don't fix it" applies. Reassurance is necessary, rather than
increasing the mother's anxiety. If the baby happens to have green stools
and has other symptoms or distress then, sure, investigate.
