Absolutely - there is no need for conflict at all. I'll seek out the 
journal later and confirm whether the word used is 'lobby' or not and 
pick out a quote or two!

One element in all of this is that cot death (SIDS or SUDI) is 
actually very rare in the UK and other western countries, with the 
figures falling, and almost solely concentrated in predictable 
socio-economic groups (not so much the case 20-30 years ago).

The charities and pressure groups involved in it these days have to 
punch above their weight to keep in the public eye.

Increasingly, it's clearer and clearer that SUDI/SIDS is linked  with 
deprivation, but here at least, these political (not party political) 
elements are not really stressed. The next step to lowering the 
incidence of  SUDI/SIDS is to reduce maternal poverty, reduce 
pre-term birth, and reduce social and economic distress. I don't see 
a lot of this sort of campaigning , however.
