We have been told by Infant Risk Center not to give phenergan to bf moms, e.g. having c/s or tubal ligation. We assume also not to give as a medication to laboring women (I think they give stadol/phenergan here). The reason is that phenergan is associated with respiratory depression in infants, SIDS, apnea. It has a black box warning (I think an FDA warning) not to use in pediatrics under age 2. This might be something to clarify or give info to anesthesia. Alternate drug is zofran I believe.
