My personal experience with breastmilk in the eye includes conjunctivitis, seasonal allergies, and even a multi-drug resistant virus which was finally cured completely by breastmilk after two years of rotating pharmaceutical antiviral drugs.  Even if it can't get to the retina, my guess is that you will be dealing with tired, irritated eyes which could use soothing, and which might be more vulnerable to airborne pathogens and irritants and could use a little more protection.
