Sorry to get to this so late, I Just saw it.

We've all seen situations where different forms of infertility predate supply issues, not all the time, but on occasion, depending on the cause of infertility.

Although progesterone supplementation immediately after birth of the baby can result in a failure to progress to Lactogenisis II (III?) there are anecdotal and researched reports of women taking both the mini Pill (progestin only) and Depo Provera (a long acting progestin injection) causing an increase in milk supply.

Depo is a problem, because if it doesn't work, or causes more problems or the mother has side effects, as it stays in the system for at least 12 weeks, nothing can be done to stop the action of the drug. But, a Mini-Pill (progestin only) or a simply progestin supplement might be something she can talk to her midwife or OBGYN about trying?

If it doesn't work or causes more issues, she can stop it and the side effects of a Mini Pill or progesterone supplement should stop nearly immediately.

Of course, often fertility issues have multiple causes and it may well not be the progesterone issue, but it probably should be investigated.

Good luck.

Warmly.
