As a part of my regular talk about swaddling I include the following. First, that it mimics the womb and where do babies eat when they are in the womb? Second, in the hundreds of babies I have seen in the last year there was one baby who on the first unswaddled nap went into a grand mal seizure. One 911 call is enough. Mom's comment at the time "I don't think she has ever done this before but she's never not been swaddled."
Swaddling is fine, but remember that babies have limited ways of communicating with us.
