This is a plug for some easy, iron rich foods.  

Blackstrap molasses has 20% of daily iron and calcium. It's fairly tasty, can be put in a cup of tea; 1 Tbsp is all you need.  It shouldn't be too difficult to get a couple of those down a day.
Some dark licorice is also iron rich.  Many green drinks are also nutritious

I suggest these foods partly because they are easily found and don't contribute to constipation like some iron supplements do.  I'm also able to fairly easily persuade my children to eat them. ;-)
