"Is any one out there using Reglan for mothers? After the FDA black box
statement we have not used it however I can't get doctors to Rx Domperidone."
That's very frustrating. Can midwives prescribe it? I always mention Reglan
when discussing options for supply issues of this kind, but rarely or
ever recommend it. We are lucky to have a local MD who is an internist and an
IBCLC who takes these referrals and when appropriate she gets them the
Domperidone, or can tell them how they can. Do you think there is any local MD
who might be interested in learning about the differences and the risks of
Reglan and why legality isn't everything? All it takes is one to start. Is
there any MD who has shown interest, come to a conference or event or
workshop on breastfeeding, or is interested in women's health perhaps?
Just a few thoughts...
Peace,
Judy
