"A girl who was at the third percentile at 14 days who gained 1/2 per day
would be 27 ounces (or 192 grams) lower than a baby who grew along the
third percentile.
"A boy who was at the third percentile at 14 days who gained 1/2 per day
would be 38.7 ounces (or 270 grams) lower than a baby who grew along the
third percentile."
Sorry, Susan, I think you have made an uncharacteristic error with
conversion into grams . As a very rough rule of thumb, if 1 oz is 30g (for
easy multiplication), then 27 oz should be 800g or so. In fact, my
converter tells me that it's 765.5 g
Similarly 38.7 oz would be just over 1 kg.
Not sure if it's relevant to your actual point - though it makes the weight
discrepancy even more horrendous. :-)
Best wishes
