Subject: feeding IUGR/SGA babies....need some validation
I am a new IBCLC and have a question/request....I have a pediatrician who sees baby's at the hospital where I work that is antibreastfeeding....she told a nurse she was told by a neonatologist that IUGR/SGA should not go to breast after birth but the mother should pump and feed so you know the exact intake. I am doubting this but would like some evidence to dispute her. Any help on articles would be awesome!!!

I checked JHL and IJHL, but didn't see anything specific enough, but I did come across some articles on volume pumped for preterm infants, and the long term effects of pumping on milk volumes at X number of weeks. You might start there.
