Hello friends,
PTP
I received a call from a client whose baby is now 10 months old. the mother is
having abdominal separation surgery and a tummy tuck this July and the doctor, a
gynecologist from a world renown hospital is telling her she must wean 1-2
months before the surgery because otherwise the estrogen levels will slow the
healing and cause maybe other problems. Its a little vague. This same doctor
also says she needs to have weaned for 5-6 months before she will do surgery on
the urinary tract area, maybe vaginal repairs as well, same issue.
I have to admit I haven't heard of this before. Will a doctor or someone else
with knowledge/ medical references address this issue.
Yes we have talked about delaying and all off that, assume this must
happen...Yes she still can't lift the baby for 6 weeks, etc. etc.
Is there a problem with hormones of breastfeeding and surgery??
Thanks
