About the same time as the article about limited formula use was published
in Pediatrics, the Abbott Company launched a new formula, designed for
supplementing and marketed as a “gentle introduction to supplementing.”
At the bottom of the Similac website home page is this truth: “These
statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
These products are not designed to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any
disease.”
Spread this around; formula is not designed to prevent any disease.
