Hi Rosie et al.,

The Bowes Museum at Barnard Castle, UK, may be a good repository of
knowledge on these kinds of jewelery. The town of Barnard Castle was an
important location of 19th C. silver-smithing, and I think this is one of
the reasons that the museum came into being. I had the good fortune to
visit Barnard Castle a couple of years ago, in the middle of a cold and wet
storm blowing in from the North Atlantic.
