I guess my opinion about a "nursing necklace" is that the baby, at the
appropriate developmental age, will play with it just as they will play
with mom's long hair, earrings, "real" necklace, eyeglasses, shirt/bra,
skin folds/moles/body hair, the other nipple. I don't see that any mother
"needs" such a thing, but I also don't see what harm it does. Sometimes
those babies that "diddle" the other nipple can be very annoying.
