Dear Lactnet Friends:

Jennifer writes that one type of oversupply is a "Baby is feeding in such
a way as to drive up supply BECAUSE it serves him to feed passively--as is
very common with TTd babies who do not cause pain (although sometimes they
do) or in babies with structural misalignment who cannot effectively
removes milk. "

I do not understand how a baby with a tongue restriction or structural
misalignment that can't effectively remove move could induce an oversupply.
How could such a baby feed "in such a way" as to drive up supply?

warmly,
