Is anyone reading or has read Melvin Konner's "The Evolution of Childhood"?
I've just started this and it is exciting in it's scope - from cross cultural ethnographic research to brain science to evolutionary pediatrics . . . . and more.
And the detail of the research. Primary sources throughout.
The text is dense for someone with only one anthropology and one biology course at the undergraduate level, hence I'm looking for a on-line study group of sorts . . . or guidance from someone.
I'm also curious that this name hasn't come up before on the lecture circuit, or has it?
My sense is that this a mind worth knowing.
Warmly,
Tina Revai
