I will repeat that I think the problem of human milk is more of a question of availability since we can eliminate the threat of infection just as easily in human milk as in any other milk. If we had an abundance of human milk available in the grocery store with the marketing power of the dairy industry, we would be having discussions about the ICK factor.
On the issue of the THREAT of OTHER MOTHER's MILK versus HEAVILY PROCESSED AND ADULTURATED OTHER SPECIES MILK -- I happen to be cramming for the exam and opened up the quagmire of immunology in the newest Lawrence and found that after pasteurization OTHER MOTHER'S MILK will still retain properties that are protective against:
Nonlipase macromolecule ------ > G. Lamblia
Alpha2 Macroglobin protein ------ > Influenza & parainfluenza
Lipids ------ > Herpes simplex
Nonlactose carbohydrate factors ------ > E coli
Gangliosides ------ > E coli and E cholerae toxins
Bifidus Factor ------ > Enterobacteriaceae (including shigelae, salmonelae and some E. Coli)
