Hi, everyone:
I'm hoping that I might be able to get some information for a mom who's in an unusual situation:
After having her baby, mom started having severe headaches. Tests were done, and a benign pituitary brain tumor was identified. Docs prescribed Bromocriptine to reduce prolactin levels, and have also recommended that she stop breastfeeding because of the prolactin involved in that process.
What I've read is telling me that breastfeeding doesn't affect tumor growth as long as mom's on the medication. Has anyone had experience with this, or can point me to literature verifying whether it's ok for her to keep breastfeeding?
Thanks so much!
Peggy
