The more stressed the nurses are, the more pushing and shoving is taught!
I had the "opportunity" to make calls for the Peer Counselors who were off
last week - interesting, non-scientific study:
The moms delivering in the SAME hospital the week of the 4th of July
reported HORRIBLE experiences compared to the moms who delivered the week
before.
Just a "heads up" if you're dealing with this type of program - the moms
delivering near holidays will need follow-up sooner, more home visits and
more support. Anticipatory guidance and planning for Labor Day,
Thanksgiving and Christmas!
