This mom had a known microprolactinoma, the appropriate place for her to
seek help is her endocrinologist, not GP or OB. Like you said GP or OB
might not know how to interpret or correct results of tests.
I also agree that we don't need to be looking for zebras when a mom has low
milk supply.In the US and I'm sure lots of other places in the world, we can
attribute low milk supply to early mismanagement in hospital. I think we
need to concentrate on non separation of mother and baby. Babies are going
to NICU at the drop of a hat around here, moms are getting sectioned for
not so serious problems or induction failures :-(
Yes, more moms are initiating BF, but most last a week or 2 :-( Does anyone
else feel like we are not making any headway? Yucky topic of happy New Year
