Hi:
You make an important point about product liability. It is something we all
need to remember any time we use a product for a purpose other than the
one(s) for which it is designed/intended. I've also seen mothers go overboard
on remedies, e.g. Lansinoh thinking "if a little's good, a lot is better..."
and I have to remind them, "No, if a little's good, a little's good..."
One way to move around this a bit is by asking mothers to sign a release.
Make sure it covers all pertinent info related to revised use. However, if an
LC ends up in court, it's still rather shaky whether or not such a release
will protect her enough.
