If anyone can help with the following, please email me off-list, and
I'll forward the details.
----
We act on behalf of xxxx in connection with the above Court action
raised by her son's father xxxxx. He seeks contact with their son xxxxx
born January 2009. xxxx presently has contact to the child for four
hours every Saturday but is seeking lengthier contact periods which is
opposed by xxxxx
Our client maintains that she is still breastfeeding the child x and
that the periods of contact being permitted to x must fit in with the
appropriate breastfeeding times. The Sheriff at x has indicated that he
would wish some guidance from a professional experienced in child
matters and in particular in relation to breastfeeding regarding this
whole situation.
In particular, it is of great significance whether it is more important
for the child x to have regular breastfeeding at specific times on a
Saturday, rather than to have contact with his father for periods of
longer than four hours. In other words we need expert guidance on how
important it is to the child x for the breastfeeding to be maintained on
a Saturday.
We would require any expert to be available to give evidence on the 1st
and 2nd of December 2011. We would need a report before then. Our client
is in receipt of Legal Aid from the Scottish Legal Aid Board and we
would require a quote prior to formal instruction so that we may obtain
funding. We look forward to hearing from you by return given the close
date of the evidential child welfare hearing.
----
many thanks
Morgan Gallagher
