This has been in the news recently because actress January Jones, from Mad Men was reported onthenews as having "eaten her placenta." My local news (Washington, DC) reported this story last night, and interviewed a woman who encapsulates placentas and a mother who talked about all the good it has done for her. They also featured a number of people sayinghow disgusting they thought it was.

It would be great to have some evidence-based information about this.
