Hi, Peggy.
I just worked with a baby with a broken clavicle. I happened to be with the mom/baby within minutes of birth, and it wasn't caught right away because baby was on mom. This baby cried and cried with baby-led feeding. He quieted and fed well with the injured side "up" toward the ceiling, sliding him in the same position to the opposite side. For about a week and a half the baby did best injured side up--now he's a great nurser however mom feels like holding him. :)
I'd be interested to hear if the baby you see has a different preference.
