In thinking about the recent loss of Chris Mulford, no one has
mentioned the beautiful song about the work of helping breastfeeding
mothers and babies, written by Chris and her daughter, folksinger Zoe
Mulford, that Zoe sang for us at the 2010 ILCA 25th Anniversary
Conference in San Antonio, Texas. The song was titled, "Smoothing
the Way."

You can listen to it here:

You can read about Chris and her contributions to breastfeeding at

and at

I see that Chris' family has asked that memorial donations in her
name be made to WABA (World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action). I
was glad to do that. The WABA website is at http://www.waba.org.my/
index.htm
I got to know Chris at many ILCA conferences over the years, where
she was always full of energy and good ideas, always willing to
listen and to share and to coordinate discussions, then write up and
distribute the summaries to participants.
Her passing is a great loss to the world of breastfeeding support.
