Pam said,
<<Anyone else have issues with respect from their daughters?
I am having such an issue with my daughter understanding that what I am
teaching and helping her with is because her son is NOT eating properly, high
bili, no weight gain>>
Pam, I really resonate with that as my dd had major problems with both her
children. It wasn't my dd that was frustrating me, it was her (now
ex-)husband who didn't want the frenulum clipped as much as it should be, didn't
want to use any method of supplementation other than the bottle, insisted on
pacifiers, and so on and so on. Jill didn't have enough milk -- we did
everything on her end of things to no avail (including Reglan and Domperidone
and a Classic pump), but I spent much time not wanting to be the IBCLC,
just wanting to be the Grammie. Same thing with second baby, only much worse
from the (now X) husband. Trying to help with daggers coming from his
eyes was not conducive to help. So I washed a lot of bottles and cried in the
dishwater.
My advice, though it is painful to give -- back off, don't say anything
unless they ask for advice, keep sending them back to the peds so that HE/SHE
tells them what to do, and just love on them and the baby as much as you
can. You don't want this to come between you in the future.
Jan
