I think we ALL need to continue to remember that prior to the existence of NICU's babies born before their time did not survive. I have met a child who was born in a developing country at 26 weeks whose mother saved him by keeping him between her breasts and squeezing milk into his mouth. That child has issues (blindness, etc.) but he did survive. Breastfeeding is the way babies were meant to be cared for - but it does not mean that when all babies were breastfed there were no criminals! It's easy to get simplistic and think that whatever our particular cause is, that if everyone just got on board, all the world's problems would be solved. We are products not just of our genetics and our environment but of our choices as well.

Subject: Creamatocrit is NOT the answer
Protein is usually the limiting nutrient for preterm infants - not calories. Creamatocrit only measures the fat (ie calories).
