When my son was almost a year old I received the obligatory 2 cans of Similac in the mail. Honestly, I was shocked they hadn't come sooner. I must have lied about my due date on the website where they got my info. I called the number on the letter and demanded to know where they got my information. I had assumed it was from the baby mega-store where I (and most other new moms) had done my registry. There was a lot of hemming and hawing initially, "Well, we have a lot of different resources. You know, you can find anything on the Internet.") I then made it clear that I needed to know so that I could completely dissacossiate myself from any company that would undermine breastfeeding by selling the personal information of vulnerable new mothers to formula companies. And guess what, the woman on the phone actually told me what I wanted to know. They got my information from thebump.com. Thebump is an offshoot of the wildly popular wedding website theknot.com. So now you know at least one place to stay away from! I returned the package to the sender with a letter and a few of my thoughts in sharpie on the packaging as well.

So sad this is allowed to happen here...
