Leslie asks for suggestions in this situation. Knowing Leslie, I know that
this mom got lots of appreciation for breastfeeding again!
In Suzanne Colson's first DVD on Biological Nurturing, there is a lovely
video clip of a mother nursing a baby in laid-back positioning. The mother
never knew she had flat nipples.
Keep this mother and baby s2s for 24/7 the first 3 days. Let the baby figure
it out; get lots of nursing in before her breasts fill. No nipple shields.
During the first week at home, keep tabs on what is happening with her
supply.
I've worked with women that made no milk at all with the first baby, and
tons with the second. Another lactational mystery...
