Hoping to draw from our cumulative knowledge. I've searched (and read) the archives.
Has anyone worked with a mom diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome (TS)? I've been researching. TS and other related disorders often involve an increased sensitivity in certain parts of the brain to dopamine. While pregnant and breastfeeding, there's an increase in prolactin and subsequently less dopamine, hence possibly less tics. Is there any research about this? Does anyone have any antecdotal experience with this? And does anyone know if, after weaning, tics would multiply?
I think the dopamine link is fascinating. I want to know more.
Thanks in advance for input,
