Dear Lactnet Friends:

It just occurred to me with renewed power that babies carry their mothers'
emotional energy and trauma; they catch it at birth.

The CST sessions that have been most effective, in my experience, have
involved the mother having a profound emotional release in a safe, open and
comfortable environment.

Kristin Svensson, a Swedish midwife, has made a similar observation. Put the
baby skin to skin and let the mother tell her story to a listener; give her
enough time for the power of the story to emerge.
