Sorry, sounds about the same at my hospital since we stopped seeing our
babies and let the neos do it. All supplemented and over treated for "low"
sugars and "high" bilis on normal newborns. Also admit a lot of babies to
NICU right after delivery, instead of observing the traditional 4 hour
transition that gives a baby chance to do it on own. Sorry Dr Wight, but
neos here in Jersey see every baby as "sick." Maybe you could Write
repeated articles for neo j. on what is truly normal for an average newborn.
I just do not believe all these babies need so much intervention. Our old
orders said no formula in crib! Guess we just didn't realize that EVERY
baby NEEDS formula :-( Pat in SNJ
