Just to answer Amy's question regarding donor milk availability in the NICU with a prescription. I don't know if it was intended to be rhetorical but no, donor milk is not readily available in the NICU, even with a prescription. I work in a NICU and we don't have donor milk available with or without a prescription.


In the US why this is the case is complex. It is firmly rooted in our culture of normalizing formula.....and the insurance industry.
