What Dawn said.I, too, feel it is so important to respect a mother's wishes and choices. It is changing, but we still live in a largely bottle feeding culture. We want to bring mothers on board, not alienate, embarrass, or shame them. Of course I know breastmilk is best!At a conference several years ago I met Kathleen Huggins and appologetically told her that I had nursed my two girls for only 2 years each. She was so accepting. Casually, a bit humorously, she said 'they lived'. If I had it to do over, I would nurse them longer. But I did not know then, what I know now. ANY breastmilk is healthy for a baby.
