Hi everyone,

Just in relation to this thread I wanted to say that this paper was
discussed briefly at the Marce Society's Conference a few weeks ago by some
of the plenary speakers (Prof Vivette Glover - perinatal psychobiologist,
Prof Philiip Boyce - perinatal psychiatrist and Dr Sanjay Nandam
-psychiatrist and neuroscientist). Their comments were in response to
audience questions regarding the findings from this paper. Whilst
acknowledging with interest the findings of this study, they emphasized that
as yet this was not a basis for changing current management, particularly in
consideration of what we currently know about the adverse effects of
maternal depression and anxiety on placental function, the fetus, attachment
and the neurodevelopment of the infant, and of course the mother herself.
