No, this would be unlikely in the UK, too, as far as my understanding goes.
There are many reasons why it might not be appropriate for a father
to have extended contact with his child, but the risk with citing
'breastfeeding' as a reason why not is that the court will make it a
condition that the mother stops breastfeeding in order to
'facilitate' contact....not sure if this could be enforced in any
way, of course, but it could lead to intrusive pressurising and,
possibly, an end to breastfeeding. With a three year old, the mother
cannot legitimately argue that the breasteeding *needs* to be done
frequently in order to keep production going....not like with a young
baby. Plenty of happily breastfeeding toddlers keep things going
very nicely even with very long gaps from time to time :)
