This is purely personal experience, but I found the wool breast pads to be extremely helpful with my vasospasm/Raynaud's issues. I experienced nipple trauma with 2 of my 3 children, and also have circulatory issues with my hands & feet. I used to have extremely painful vasospasm after breastfeeding, even after the cause of the nipple trauma was resolved and the nipples had healed. Once I started using wool breast pads, I very rarely experienced vasospasm, as long as I put the pads back on right after a nursing session. I used the wool pads for the first year of life with all three of my children, so even though they are expensive, you can get a lot of use out of them, and you only need one or two pairs, as they rarely need washing.

Even now, with a 2.5 yo nursling, although I almost never have vasospasms and no longer use the wool pads, I get very uncomfortable (physically and psychologically) leaving my nipple exposed after BF. My nursling likes to switch sides often (easily 4 or more times during one nursing session), and although it seems silly to fasten my bra when I know she's going back to that breast in just a few minutes, I usually close it or cover my breast with my shirt anyway.

PS Of course, as with lanolin, anyone with a wool allergy should NOT use these pads. ;-)
