Ted, I am constantly in doubt! I question everything, especially common
wisdom, and any opinions that I might hold (I hold personal opinions, other
than basic respect for all life, rather lightly).
Although Bob thinks that I am some sort of defender for Bayer, in actuality,
I am a defender of logic and good data to feed into that logic.
There is currently a data set that has not been collected--no one that I
know of has yet run any large tunnel trials of bees on corn treated with
clothianidin. Such a trial should be replicated in various areas, by
various independent researchers. The data from such a trial would, I
expect, go a long way toward determining the degree of effect of seed
treatment upon foraging bee colonies. I've been pushing for such a trial
for over two years.
