Hello again,
I would like to ask someone about the sterile vs non-sterile nipple
shields.  We usually get the sterile nipple shields, but they are currently
out of stock.  We are going to get some non-sterile ones in the mean time,
but what is acceptable to do to it before the first use?  I work in a public
health department, so sometimes we would be in the clinic, or sometimes we
would be in the home.  On a home visit, should I just wash it off at the
kitchen sink?  To be honest, the homes that I go into vary.  There have been
times when I went to the sink but couldn't find soap or a paper towel or
anything like that really.  Is it okay just to run it under some hot water
and shake it off?  In the clinic, we have sinks and just the super heavy
duty health care worker soap.

So, how do I handle using the nonsterile nipple shields for now?  Thanks for
any advice!
