   I am not an expert so

   I can only speak from what I have seen in my cranial practice where I
treat a number of people with seizure disorders...

   I have not heard of lack of sleep as a causative agent but de hydration
definitely is - you said she had one in hospital - i would suspect
dehydration before lack of sleep.
